Travel & Location Photography
Photographing the spirit of a place — its light, its character and the feeling of being there.

The spirit of a place
Chris Kilkus — Christopher Kilkus — is a travel and location photographer who shoots the character of a place as well as its landmarks. Every location has its own look, light and ambiance, and a lasting travel image carries all three — not just how somewhere appears, but how it feels to stand in it.
People in the landscape
Chris's fashion and lifestyle background shapes how he shoots location: people belong in these frames. A figure gives scale and story; light and weather become part of the cast. The result is destination, hotel and editorial imagery that reads as a place you could be, not just one that exists — equally at home in a resort campaign or a travel story.
Patience and the right light
Travel photography rewards patience above almost anything else. The difference between a flat frame and a memorable one is often an hour spent waiting for the light to turn or a return to the same spot until it gives something back. You cannot manufacture that on a schedule — only put yourself in front of it and be ready.
